Information
Liam Bursey is a multidisciplinary designer and filmmaker who will stop writing in the third person after this sentence.

I received my undergraduate degree in Architecture with a minor in Motion Picture Arts at Laurentian University in my hometown of Sudbury, Ontario. Later, at the University of Waterloo, I received my master degree with a thesis entitled Vessel: Stories from the Edge of the World. This project was a return to my family’s roots in Newfoundland, where I produced a documentary film studying the traditional craft of wooden boat building. This research allowed me to fuse my architectural background with my love for filmmaking.

I have been lucky enough to work in a wide range of contexts as an apprentice carpenter, photographer, set dresser, artist, production assistant, and most recently as an intern architect at the renowned Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris, France. Regardless of what I’m called to do or where I find myself, all of my work is connected by a deep desire to tell stories.

I love culture, I love well-crafted things, I love good food and the people who make it, I love water and I love the open air. I believe life is about bringing people together and there is no better way to achieve that than through storytelling.

If you’re in need of photos, videos, designs, ideas, or good stories, I might be able to help.

Cheers,
Liam
