The Wigwam is inherently
designed to return to the earth after it’s fulfilled its purpose.
To build this place of learning, young green trees were harvested
and buried in the ground, rooting the Wigwam to the earth. Each
of the 28 posts correlate to a phase of the moon, connecting the
Wigwam to the cosmos. The sacred fire in the center of the structure
holds everything in balance, simultaneously dug into the earth while
its smoke travels towards the heavens through an oculus in the roof.
The Wigwam becomes an axis mundi, where one can inhabit the
sacred space in-between the earth and the cosmos.
